The Paiste M4 Gong Mallet is a medium-weight professional mallet and Paiste's recommended match for the 26" Sound Creation Gong No. 3 Earth. It is also a popular choice on 24" Planet and Symphonic gongs when you want a warmer, fuller sound than a lighter mallet gives.
A specially weighted inner core is covered in felt and fur and mounted on a light aluminium handle with a vinyl grip and wrist thong. The result is a soft, round attack with no harsh click, and a warm, full swell as the gong opens up.

Choosing the right Paiste mallet
Paiste matches mallet weight to gong size so every gong speaks fully. The M4 suits the 26" Sound Creation Gong and 24" gongs such as the Venus, Neptune and Uranus Planet Gongs and the 24" Symphonic Gong. For 26"–30" gongs choose the M5, and for 32"–36" gongs the M6. Many sound healers keep more than one mallet to layer different tones in a session.
