The Paiste 24" Neptune Planet Gong is tuned to a fundamental of G#2 (105.72 Hz), with the Neptune tone of 211.44 Hz one octave above. The tuning is based on Hans Cousto's work in The Cosmic Octave, which converts the orbital period of Neptune into sound.

The Neptune gong has a dreamy, floating quality. Its overtones rise and fall in slow, ocean-like swells, creating a soft, mysterious wash that seems to hang in the air. The 24-inch size keeps it responsive and easy to control, so it can be played very quietly or built into a rich, shimmering roar.

Neptune is associated with intuition, dreams, imagination and spirituality. In sound healing it is used for deep relaxation, dream and visualisation work, and meditations that invite the listener to let go and drift inward.
