Tanpuras
The tanpura provides the shimmering drone at the heart of Indian classical music. Shop male tanpuras for lower pitches, female tanpuras for higher pitches, and instrumental tanpuras – from the famous tanpura makers of Miraj and from Kanai Lal & Sons of Kolkata.
For travel, choose a flatback, folding or box tanpura. Tanpuras are large, delicate instruments, so please contact us for a delivery quote to your city.
Tanpuras use friction pegs, so it is worth reading about shaping and fitting a peg before you need to.
