Made in Kolkata, this female tanpura has a nice, full sound and is a very good entry-level instrument. Its gourd body and carefully shaped bridge produce the rich, buzzing drone (jawari) that is the foundation of Indian classical music.
Female tanpuras are smaller and suit the higher tonic (Sa) pitches used by most female vocalists and many instrumentalists.
