The Paiste 38" Earth Planet Gong is a powerful, large-format gong tuned to a fundamental of C#2 (68.05 Hz), with the Earth tone of 136.10 Hz one octave above. Hans Cousto calculated this frequency from the Earth's journey around the Sun; it is widely known as the OM frequency and is used in yoga, meditation and sound therapy around the world.

With its 38-inch diameter, the Earth gong produces deep, grounding tones with long sustain, complex harmonics and slowly evolving overtones. The sound is warm, expansive and mysterious, unfolding gradually with each strike – from a soft, enveloping hum to a vast, room-filling wave.

The Earth gong is associated with grounding, stability, centring and our connection to nature. Many sound healers use it as the foundation of a gong bath, bringing the "music of the spheres" into sound therapy and meditation.
